Newborn baby being held in baseball glove

There is never a time where your child will change more quickly that in the first month of their lives. It is why it's imperative to capture images as soon as possible after birth. For studio newborn I like to photograph your new baby within 10 days of birth but we can certainly photograph them if life gets in the way and you are outside that window. For lifestyle sessions in your home, I like do do them within the first month.

I have ALL you will need in studio: the adorable studio props, wraps, blankets and layers and bonnets and bow ties galore in all the colors. Bowls and baskets and shushers and backdrops. There is a comfy parent waiting area, a changing area with diapers and wipes if you run out. We offer snack and encourage you to bring your own if you have special foods.

Newborn sessions are baby led. If the baby needs to eat or be changed, we stop. If the baby takes a while to go to sleep, we wait and hold and rock. We keep the room warm for tiny bodies with a space heater. Sessions in studio are typically longer as we are waiting for sleeping baby poses. Expect to spend up to 3-4 hours for studio sessions.

We (my assistant and I) have trained with nationally renowned newborn photographers in posing safety and newborn safety. Our job is to make sure your baby is comfortable and safe the entire session.

Your collection will include both color and black and white images. The nature of newborn photography requires more intensive editing as their skin is usually patchy-colored and oftentimes peeling as they are super new. Because we take pride in your images, we give each image the time it deserves.

I offer single sessions for newborns or full-year milestone packages.

The process starts with an inquiry followed by a short phone call from me to talk you through the process and answer all your questions.
